Cain's main area of practice involves retail leasing across all states and territories throughout Australia (and recently New Zealand), generally acting on behalf of major tenants. Cain's expertise extends to franchising and he also acts for landlords of regional shopping centres. In his litigation practice Cain acts for major listed companies and smaller corporations across a range of jurisdictions from Local Court to Supreme and Federal Court matters and participates in numerous mediations and other alternative dispute resolution arenas.
