Katherine is a Senior Associate in our family law team. Our family law team provides legal advice and representation in all areas of law under the Family Law Act and related legislation such as the Child Support (Assessment) Act and the Surrogacy Act.

The team works closely with other partners of the firm that specialise in Wills and estate planning, trusts, property transactions, business planning and succession, and asset protection.

Professional Background

Katherine has worked exclusively in family law since her admission to practice in 2016. Prior to joining Eakin McCaffery Cox in 2021, Katherine worked at a national firm with our partner, Paul Lewis and before then at two boutique family law firms.

Katherine has experience in a wide range of family law matters including parenting issues, financial issues, divorce, spousal maintenance and child support. She is familiar with matters involving numerous financial structures including companies, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds, and matters involving financial agreements before, during or after a de facto relationship or marriage. She is experienced in working with matters where one or more of the following affect a parent or other family member- mental health issues, substance dependency, allegations of family violence, child abuse, and disability.

She adopts a resolution focused attitude to all matters and attempts to minimise the conflict experienced by clients and their family during and after family breakdown. Katherine’s ability to listen and passion for family law makes her particularly attuned to each client’s individual needs and helps them achieve their goals through clear and practical advice.
